Cultural Art

 LI: To create a piece of cultural art

  • Inspired by art creations by Raku Inoue we went outside and collected leaves, twigs, and other plant debris to create our own cultural pattern or symbol.

LI: To create a DLO that tells others about tatau. 

Tattooing has played an important part in many cultures over time. Our challenge was to use our smart searching skills to find out about traditional tattooing in our own culture.

Cyber smart

 



we needed to complete this activity and it was for  our computers and we needed to see what keys and what we are suppose to do with our computers and we have to do shortcuts.

After defining hydration and dehydration we worked collaboratively to use our smart searching skills to help us find facts that would teach others why it is important for our health and learning.I found this activity hard because I did not know what hydration and dehydration was.

Today I learnt that when it is very hot and the air is shimmering Tānerore performs the haka for his mother, Hine-Raumati. This happens in summer as the land heats up. Our challenge was to think about this while we designed our own kowhaiwhai pattern to represent summer. My pattern shows

Te Tiriti o Waitangi

 LI: To understand the history of the Treaty of Waitangi

Today i learnt about the treaty of Waitangi. First I read a text about the Treaty of Waitangi and the history. After that i chose 20 important words linked to the treaty of waitangi. Then I wrote down the 6 most important words from the last list of words. Then I used those 6 words to create a summary about the treaty of waitangi.
